Relocating to Ithaca
Moving back to Ithaca will be wonderful--out of the big city and closer to nature. Yet, we will be in a thriving metropolitan environment with easy access to culture and beauty. The icing on the cake is moving into a co-housing, inter-generational community dedicated to sustainability. Those of us who are part of TREE have been meeting often over the past year(s), and we already feel like a collaborative, caring community. We look forward to our houses being built so that we can live adjacent to each other, work together, and share meals and celebrations together.
My wife and I are happily relocating to Ithaca NY and TREE, the third neighborhood in EcoVillage at Ithaca. Last summer we sold our three-story Victorian home in Pittsburgh--which was much too large and energy-consuming for the two of us--and have been living near Ithaca in order to participate more fully in planning for this next stage of our lives. We are delighted that we'll be living out our retirement in a caring, intergenerational community committed to sustainability, affordability, and accessibility--surrounded by organic gardens and farms, woodlands, and dark skies at night (a boon to this amateur astronomer), just a few minutes from the center of the culturally rich city of Ithaca. We are happy that this is no "gated community": most EcoVillagers strive to foster their values both within their community and in the outside world.
Moving to Ithaca?!
It's an incredible place... Think about living at the nationally renowned EcoVillage at Ithaca. Featured as a climate showcase community in modeling a mainstream energy wise lifestyle and much more - it's residents are a cross section of Ithaca focusing on energy conservation and so much more in creating a sustainable, high quality, richly fulfilling lifestyle. Come visit. It will be an Aha Experience!

Moving to Ithaca
Moving to Ithaca has been a great experience for our family. We love the size of the city and all the culture and family-friendly activities it offers; the beauty of the land (especially the waterfalls); and the warmth and caring of the people who live in the area. But most of all, we are excited to have discovered Ecovillage at Ithaca at a time when a new neighborhood is forming. It is an incredible journey (on a personal and community level) to partake in, and we feel so fortunate to be part of this process.

Moving to Ithaca to live sustainably
Our group is currently meeting to create a sustainable, fulfilling way of living. The neighborhood, to be finished early in 2013, will be located on a beautiful hilltop close to woodland, the first two neighborhoods at Ecovillage at Ithaca, and to a planned educational facility.
